Seychelles National Museum of History : Michelin's recommendations

This museum is an excellent place to find out more about the history of the Seychelles and its inhabitants. In addition to the main room, with its stone of possession (signifying French ownership) erected in 1756 by Corneille Nicolas Morphey, it features art and traditional objects as well as the oldest map of the archipelago dating back to 1517. Another very interesting section is devoted to the dark days when the African and Malgache people were enslaved.
