Considered the original Eden by Colonel Charles Gordon in the late 19C, this must-see on Praslin was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1984. Marked trails crisscross the (20 ha) forest topped by a thick canopy of vegetation and the famous Cocos de Mer (over 4,000) which have occupied an important place in the popular imagination here, as well as native palm trees, flamboyants, takamakas and acacias.
