Calitzdorp : Michelin's recommendations

Calitzdorp is located on route 62, which goes across the Little Karoo. Vineyards surround the town, considered the capital of port, the sweet wine celebrated in May every other year at the Port Festival. Local wine-growing estates naturally offer wine tastings. World famous ceramicist, painter and sculptor Hylton Nel, works nearby. The Gamka Mountain Nature Reserve to the south is home to baboons, antelopes and mountain zebras.
