Calvinia : Michelin's recommendations

Calvinia, capital of Hantam Karoo, is located between the Great Karoo and Namakwaland. Great Karoo gave it the sheep with which it began sheep farming – now its main economic activity. There is even a museum devoted to the animals. Namakwaland gave it the flowers that blossom in the fields in late winter as far as the eye can see, attracting many visitors. In addition to these assets, Calvinia is also a charming farming town that boasts a number of fine old homes.
