North of the colonial town and Commercial Road, the Kwa Muhle Museum recounts the history of the townships in Durban, marked in the 1950-1960s by the “shebeens war” over the control of beer sales. It also presents scenes from the everyday lives of theIndian community, recreated with wax figures, and an interesting exhibition on the art of Zulu hairstyles.
