Graaff-Reinet
: Michelin's recommendations
Nestled at the foot of the Sneeuberg, at a bend in the Sundays River, Graaff-Reinet is like an oasis of vegetation. It took on the name “Little Athens” due to its large number of preserved and restored historic monuments, which lend it a great deal of charm. The surrounding Camdeboo Nature Reserve, and particularly the Valley of Desolation, is worth an excursion.
