Kuruman
: Michelin's recommendations
It was in Kuruman, not far from a “miraculous spring” producing 20 million litres of water per day, that the London Missionary Society decided to create one of its most active centres. From 1820 to 1870, Scotsman Robert Moffat worked for the Tlhaping, creating the first Bible in the Setswana language. You can visit the tropical gardens and buildings at Moffat’s Mission Station, in particular the church where the missionary and explorer David Livingstone married Moffat’s daughter Mary.
