The Pietersburg/Polokwane Museum is located in The Irish House, a striking steepled building whose metallic structure was imported from Germany in 1906. Its galleries recount the history of Africa back to the stone age. The jewellery, musical instruments and statuettes in the ethnological section give an intelligent overview of the cultural practises of the Tsonga, Sotho and Venda communities.
