This is a good place to learn more about the animals in South Africa’s parks and reserves. Mammals, reptiles and birds are studied here, whether alive, stuffed, in model or skeletal form, and often in staged displays. The museum also contains a collection of precious and semi-precious stones, and a section reserved for palaeontology. Don’t miss the famous skull of “Mrs Ples”, an Australopithecus Africanus about 2 million years old discovered in theSterkfontein Caves.
