Plans for the home (drostdy) of the magistrate/governor of Tulbagh were drawn up in the early 19C by Louis-Michel Thibault in the Cape Dutch style. From 1806 to 1822 the building was also the courthouse. Today it houses a small museum with a variety of objects (a gramophone, vases, maps) and also offers wine tastings.
