James Kitching, called the “world’s greatest fossil hunter”, roamed over theKaroo Plains for decades collecting hundreds of fossils. This little museum features two life-size animated reconstructions: Fred, a 3m-long pre-mammalian reptile that lived in the Karoo 260 million years ago (the oldest known terrestrial reptile in the southern hemisphere), and Fang, a 7m-long Saharan dinosaur born 130 million years ago.
