Kosi Bay Hiking Trail is an excellent way to explore the Kosi Bay Nature Reserve created around four lakes with brackish water. The waters and surrounding tropical forests are full of hippos, crocodiles, cormorants, monkeys and ospreys. Don’t miss the wooden fish traps on Lakes Nhlange and Mpungwini, or the turtles laying their eggs on Bhanga Nek Beach in summer. Offshore, the floor of the Indian Ocean is covered with coral, but beware of sharks!
