If you only have time to see one vineyard in Paarl, choose Laborie, particularly attractive with its magnificent Manor House and historical cellars where high-quality wines and brandy are produced. The estate, founded in the 17C by Huguenots, was bought in the 1970s by KWV, whose other cellar on Kohler Street is also open to the public. Like many South African estates, both places have opened a restaurant on the premises.
