Almonaster la Real
: Michelin's recommendations
Nestling in the greenery of the Sierra de Aracena, among chestnut and eucalyptus trees and cork and holm oaks, Almonaster is well worth a visit. With its whitewashed alleyways, large colonial-style houses, and Andalucian cortijos (farms), history seems to have stood still here. Local specialities (particularly its pork-based dishes) and festivals such as the Cruz de Mayo draw crowds of visitors to the town.
