66km northeast of Cadiz, Arcos de la Frontera is the western gateway to the Pueblos Blancos and the town of Ronda. Perched at close to 200m above the valley, the town towers over the dramatic precipice formed by the River Guadelete. Stately Renaissance mansions and whitewashed houses with wrought-iron grilles on their windows line the town’s maze of narrow paved streets. Don’t miss the panoramic view from the belvedere on Plaza del Cabildo.
