Belalcázar : Michelin's recommendations

Gaete, a small village in the north of the province of Cordoba, took the name of Belalcázar in the 15C, in homage to its superb fortress (Bello Alcázar in Spanish). This centre for the Sotomayors, lords of the county of Belalcázar, was also the birthplace of a famous conquistador, Sébastián de Belalcázar, founder of the town of Quito and conqueror of Nicaragua.
