Church of the Assumption
Church of the Assumption : Michelin's recommendations
This 16C church was built on the site of an early church. Its three-aisled shape with no transept and a triple apse is based on the form of most Cordoba churches of the same period. The collaterals are topped with a wooden ceiling, the main nave with an 18C vault, the capilla mayor with Gothic lattice vaults and the chapels with tierceron vaults. The church contains two interesting works of art: the sculpted and painted Renaissance retable of the presbiterio (16C) and the baroque retable of the right chapel. Outside stands the highest baroque tower in the province (55 m).
