Royal Prison : Michelin's recommendations

Built in 1792 by the local architect Torcuato Benjumeda, the Royal prison was the first neoclassical building in Cadiz and is wholly representative of this style in Andalusia. The facade is preceded by a sort of arch of triumph which has four great columns supporting it in the Tuscan style and topped with two lions, who flank the shield of the Spanish monarchy. Inside, the courts set up in 1990, are laid out around a large patio and two side patios.
