San Nicolás de la Villa : Michelin's recommendations
The construction of this church began at the end of the 13C and at the start of the 14C after the reconquest Notice the strange tower in the Mudejar style: built in the 15C, it has a square base on which stands an octagon of great dimension decorated with encorbelles on the upper parts. On top, the small modern belfries do break up its harmonious aspect a little. At the junction of the base and of the octagon, on the half pyramids, note the small reliefs of busts of people and the story of patience and obedience.. The sober facade dates from the end of the 16C. Inside, the three short spaces have twin bays. The ceiling of the central nave is of wood. The chevet has preserved its crossed vaults. This church suffered many alterations in the 16C and it was then that the Baptism chapel was built, decorated with a relief depicting the sacrament of baptism and an oval dome..
