Cuevas del Almanzora : Michelin's recommendations
The Cuevas de Almanzora stand near the dam of the same name, in an area with an abundance of mining seams and archaeological excavations. The village enjoyed its heyday in the 19C with the discovery of silver deposits in the Sierra de la Almagrera. Fine houses and the Capilla del Carmen, a chapel in the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Incarnación, reflect the grandeur of the time. Don’t miss the troglodyte homes in the nearby mountains and the water park on the road to Vera.
