Écija Travel guide
Écija
: Michelin's recommendations
Écija, the old Roman town of Astigi, lies in a large depression in the Bética mountain range, on the left bank of the River Genil. Écija became very prosperous, particularly in the 18C, resulting in the construction of its fine palaces, churches, convents and eleven towers. The Baroque style of Écija was once extremely influential in the region.
