San Idelfonso Interesting : Michelin's recommendations

Bibendum
The largest church in the town after the cathedral. With 14 and 15C Gothic style, it has three portals: one, Gothic, is decorated with a mosaic illustrating the appearance of the Virgin of the Chapel, patron saint of Jaén who, according to tradition, freed the town from a siege by the Moors; a second, Renaissance, is by Vandelvira; the third, neo-classical, dates back to the 18C and is by Ventura Rodríguez. Inside, note the magnificent main retable, sculpted by Pedro and Julio Roldán, and the fine tabernacle by Pedro Duque Cornejo. The Chapel of the Virgin, decorated with frescos and elegant stained glass windows, contains a statue of the patron saint of Jaén. A small museum contains various works inspired by popular devotion and is housed in the Casa de la Virgen, which is linked to the church.
