Jerez de la Frontera
: Michelin's recommendations
Jerez de la Frontera is only a few kilometres from the coast, but feels more landlocked than maritime. This dynamic wine-growing town, world-famous for its sherry, is also a cultural capital blessed with a rich artistic heritage, as witnessed in its old streets dotted with medieval churches and Renaissance palaces. One of the birthplaces of Flamenco, Jerez is also famous for its equestrian traditions and its superb Andalucian horses (cartujanos), the stars of the Feria del Caballo in May.
