Here you will see a statue dating from the 1950s dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, and the Renaissance building of the Cabildo (1575), with a facade of grotesques and cupids, accompanied by Hercules and Julius Caesar and flanked by the Cardinal Virtues. To the left is a vaulted gallery consisting of three semi-circular openings supported by slender columns which contrast with the sturdy Corinthian columns of the doorway and windows on the opposite side.
