The harmonious square, La Palma's nerve centre, is surrounded by striking buildings. Among them are, on one side, the old Palacio del Señorio, the theatre and the Casa de los Arcos, and opposite, the Casa del Tirado, adorned with a grille and azelujos (ceramic tiles) reproducing Velásquez's Las Meninas and The Spinners. You can also see the Iglesia de San Juan Bautista (John the Baptist), a Baroque building with a whitewashed façade.
