Linares : Michelin's recommendations
This old mining town, in a depression at the foot of the Sierra Morena, lies near the Roman road that once linked Cádiz with Rome. The second largest town in the province, it has suffered from economic recession in recent years. The birthplace of the great guitarist Andrés Segovia (1893-1987), it is also, more tragically, associated with the legendary bullfighter Manolete, who died in the bullring here.
