Lora del Río stands on the north bank of the Guadalquivir between Seville and Palma del Río. This small town has retained its bygone feel as well as many of its Baroque buildings. It is well known for its culinary specialities, including sopeao, a local variation on gazpacho (a cold soup based on tomatoes and cucumbers).

Town Hall

The town hall, housed in an old Baroque palace dating from the 18C, has a magnificent façade with floral decoration.

Sanctuary of Our Lady of Setefilla

The lovely 17C Mudéjar shrine - executed in the Arab tradition - stands outside the town in a lonely spot in the Sierra Morena. It contains the statue of the Virgin of Setefilla, the focus of a yearly pilgrimage on 8 September.
