The lovely 17C Mudéjar shrine - executed in the Arab tradition - stands outside the town in a lonely spot in the Sierra Morena. It contains the statue of the Virgin of Setefilla, the focus of a yearly pilgrimage on 8 September.

A fine example of Baroque architecture, with, notably, a sgraffito façade - decoration made by scratching through white plaster to show black stucco beneath - and an elegant inner patio .

5 Church of the Assumption

The church is Gothic-Mudéjar in style (built by Arab craftsmen in Christian territory after the Reconquest), and, like many others, was built over a mosque. It has one of the tallest bell-towers in the province.
