Marchena is a village in Seville’s Campiña region, at the centre of a major archaeological area where evidence of human life dating back to the Bronze Age has been found. The Moors also left their mark on the town, which experienced its heyday in the 15C-16C under the protection of the Dukes of Arcos.

Arco de la Rosa

This door closed by a horseshoe arch between two fine rectangular towers used to open up onto the original almohade ramparts. It was rebuilt in the 15C and a part of the wall can still be seen.
