This 17-18C church was built on the site of the birthplace of the saint, an evangelist in Peru. The façade, which does not look like that of a religious building, is preceded by an atrium that acts as porch. A statue of the local patron saint dominates the entrance. Gilded stone decorates the building that is symmetrical and elegant. A tower was adjoined to the church in 1910. The steeple is covered in azulejos. A large retable is inside.
