Rioja
: Michelin's recommendations
The Rioja region is renowned for its exceptional wines. The province, the capital of which is Logroño, is one of the 17 autonomous communities that make up Spain. The Rioja flourished both culturally and economically thanks to its location on the pilgrims’ route to Santiago de Compostela, as witnessed by the large monasteries of Santo Domingo de la Calzada and San Millán de la Cogolla. Modern visitors are drawn to the province by its varied landscapes, its relaxed way of life and its cuisine.
