Rodalquilar : Michelin's recommendations

Rodalquilar is located in the Parque Natural de Cabo de Gata-Níjar. This typical and remote village is an old mining centre that ceased production in the 1960s. A dirt track leading to the Playa del Playazo is lined with interesting buildings, including a 16C tower known as the Torre de Rodalquilar or Alumbreras; a noria or chain pump powered by donkeys, mules or even labourers; and, along the coast, the 18C San Román military battery.
