This small town 9km northeast of Úbeda has preserved fine seigniorial mansions bearing coats of arms on their façades. These include the residences of the Mendoza, Melgarejo and Higuera Sabater families, all of which were designed by the famous locally born architect Andrés de Vandelvira (1509-76).
