Perched on a hill crowned by a majestic castle, Salobreña is a delightful Andalucian village with red bougainvillaea adding a splash of colour to its whitewashed houses. It stands above a sea of sugar cane stretching to a coastline dotted with fine beaches such as El Peñón, which owes its name to a rock plunging dramatically into the indigo-blue sea below.
