This pleasant coastal village in the Parque Natural de Cabo de Gata-Níjar is the perfect base for a relaxing holiday, with its whitewashed houses arranged in tiers up the mountainside, a busy small marina, and beautiful beaches. Note the domed roofs on some of the houses here, an architectural feature typical of the Almería region, the purpose of which is to keep the main room of the house cool in summer.
