Situated at the point where the winding road from Ronda meets the coast, San Pedro de Alcántara was once a village populated by labourers working on cotton and sugar cane plantations. It has since developed into a pleasant Costa del Sol resort, with handsome villas dotted amid luxuriant vegetation. San Pedro is also of archaeological interest, with significant remains located along the coast.
