Úbeda
: Michelin's recommendations
This delightful town is a little off the tourist trail but is well worth a visit, both for its Renaissance palaces, built from attractive golden stone, which testify to the town’s prestige under Charles V and Philip II, and for its San Millán district, a maze of narrow streets with shops selling local handicrafts, particularly tinplate and glass lanterns. The dulces de convento, confectionery made by the nuns here according to traditional recipes, are well worth tasting.
