The unadorned sober architecture of the residences of Cáceres' noblemen bears witness to the hard lives of the former Christian knights who lived here. Only a few details such as a sculpted cornice or a coat of arms adorn the austere façades. Among the finest are the Casa de las Cigüeñas, Casa de las Veletas and Casa del Comendador de Alcuéscar, as well as the Palacio de los Golfines de Abajo. As you pass by the Plaza Santa María, look out for the fortified towers which were lowered on the command of Isabel the Catholic in 1477.

Maravillosa parte antigua, pareces transportado en el tiempo a 10 siglos a trás, no me extraña que sea patrimonio de la humanidad. La ciudad moderna también es agradable de ver .
