The street leads off from the Plaza de la Constitución and passes in front of the Plaza del Ayuntamiento where the neo-Classical town hall stands. Behind this is a lush park called Hijuela del Jardín Botánico. At n°17, a 16C residence is now home to the Museo Etnográfico Guanche, devoted to the island's native population, the Guanches, who were still living in the Stone Age at the time of the Spanish conquest.
