A listed "national artistic garden" is a delightful retreat in the palm grove. The "priest’s garden" takes its name from José Castaño Sánchez (1843-1918), a chaplain who inherited the garden and then devoted his life to it. In an area covering 13 000m² he created a garden of outstanding beauty and which features plant and landscaped sections. The many species found here include a collection of cacti and the old imperial palm tree which is over 150 years old and whose trunk supports seven branches.
