Igualada : Michelin's recommendations
Situated on the right bank of the River Anoia, Igualada means "abundant water" in Latin (“aqua lata”). This busy commercial town, capital of the local area (“comarca”), owes its fame to its knitting and fine leather goods industries. In the centre of the town, the Rambla de Sant Isidre is lined by many specialist leather shops. Igualada also has some striking Modernist buildings, the most interesting of which is the Asilo del Santo Cris, designed by Rubió i Bellver in 1931.
