La Coruña Travel guide
La Coruña
: Michelin's recommendations
La Coruña has many different facets: an old town with narrow paved streets, a centre with wide avenues and beautiful buildings adorned with glass-covered galleries, a pleasant marina, and lively shopping areas. The city, first built on a peninsula, then on an isthmus which links it to the mainland, faces entirely out to sea. As a result of trade it was already prosperous in Roman times. In 1588, its huge port was the departure point for the Invincible Armada.
