Olivenza Recommended Recommended : Michelin's recommendations

Five centuries of Portuguese history have marked the shape and architecture of monuments in this quiet town surrounded by olive groves. It is one of the few places in Spain where you can see examples of the Manueline style, a specifically Portuguese art from the time of King Manuel (early 16C) which introduced Renaissance, Moorish and maritime elements, such as knots, ropes and spheres, to late Gothic architecture. Slightly off the beaten track, the town has a charming, unspoilt atmosphere.
