For over 150km from Ondarroa to the Barbadun estuary, the Biscay coast is a succession of steep green cliffs, pleasant estuaries and huge beaches of fine sand. Wilder than the neighbouring Guipúzcoa coast, and less affected by industry and tourism, it has retained some real slices of paradise like the Urdaibai Reserve. Travelling along this coastline, visitors will also encounter places redolent of major historical events, like Guernica and Bilbao.
