The elegant 18C Velarde Palace, now a Fine Arts Museum, houses a large collection of paintings in which Asturian artists are particularly well represented. The portrait of Charles II by Júan Carreño de Miranda (1614-1685), a pupil of Vélasquez, is one of the major pieces in the collection.
