Pamplona
: Michelin's recommendations
Pamplona is the main town in the Spanish Pyrenees region. The former capital of the kingdom of Navarre, it has retained the appearance of a fortified old town in its narrow streets around the cathedral. Part of its old walls remain to the north and east, while modern districts have developed to the south, characterised by arcaded squares (Plaza del Castillo) and long avenues lined with attractive buildings (Paseo de Sarasate). A ring of parks surrounds the walled town.
