Off the beaten tourist coastal track, Antonio Gaudí's birthplace is home to countless Modernist buildings, some of which were the work of Lluís Domènech i Montaner. In the town centre is the Casa Navàs (1901), reminiscent of Venetian Gothic palaces..

Built in 1760, it has a fine façade with an eastern door surrounded by baroque and rococo elements. Inside, the neo-classical room is decorated with frescos of Charles III and Charles IV.

A few ruins remain of the old Jewish quarter in Carreró dels Jueus, and, on Plaça del Castell, stands the only reminder of medieval Reus, a fortified building that houses the Historical Archives.

Dominated by the equestrian statue of General Prim (1887), this is the centre of Reus's nightlife and culture. Shows at the Teatre Fortuny attract people onto the terraces.

The Art and Industries section contains works by native Reus painters. The archaeology section in Raval de Santa Anna contains collections left by the famous archaeologist Salvador Vilaseca (1896-1975).

The Gaudí quarter is an interesting urban area by architect Ricardo Bofill.
