Off the beaten tourist coastal track, Antonio Gaudí's birthplace is home to countless Modernist buildings, some of which were the work of Lluís Domènech i Montaner. In the town centre is the Casa Navàs (1901), reminiscent of Venetian Gothic palaces (it retains its period furniture, mosaics and glazing). Note also the Casa Rull (façade decorated with winged lions) and the Casa Gasull (with mosaics in the window bays and sgraffito wall decoration).
