Salardú : Michelin's recommendations

It was because of its strategic position at the entrance to a valley that this village was fortified in the Middle Ages. Salardú is an attractive small town with houses built of granite and shale clustered around the Iglesia de Sant Andreu, a 12C-13C Romanesque church with three aisles and three apses, and crowned by a 15C octagonal bell tower. It boasts a remarkable 12C sculpture of Christ, the 65cm Majestat de Salardú (12C), carved with great anatomical realism.
