Laid out on a hill at the heart of the residential quarter, this lovely park is undoubedly San Sebastian’s finest. The creation of Franco-Spanish gardener Pierre Ducasse (1836-1892), it surrounds the neo-Classical palace (1878) of the dukes of Bailén which in 1941 became Franco’s summer residence. A green haven of tranquility, it has copses and bushes, Atlas cedars, ginkgo bilobas, plane trees, sequoias and planted flowerbeds. Play area, and benches for tired strollers.
